It’s official - The Pirate Bay is officially kicked out of the Netherlands. A Dutch court ordered the TPB founders to block traffic between the TPB site and the country within 10 days or face fines of 30,000 euros per day.

[The founders] “each separately and together, to stop and keep stopped the infringements on copyright and related rights of Stichting Brein in the Netherlands.”

As AP notes, “it was not clear how the court expected the site’s operators to block traffic to the site, or whether it can enforce its order if they decline.”

Meanwhile, Global Gaming Factory disputed reports that it doesn’t have the funds to complete a deal to purchase TPB. Grokster founder Wayne Rosso was in, then out, of the deal.

The Register reports on the statement:

“A group of investors are prepared to inject 30m [kronor] relating to the cash portion of the purchase price of The Pirate at the date of acquistion,” said the company.

The statement added that GGF was “in final negotiations with a global player on a ‘hunt pirates agreement’ which is expected to serve as a model for the entertainment industry.”

And, hey, TPB is such a great brand, they might just rename their internet cafe business “The Pirate Bay.”
