IBM joins OSDL but will USPTO look inside?

Open source attempts to establish easier ways to establish prior art on software are unlikely to make a difference, says PatNews publisher Greg Aharonian, poo-poohing news that IBM has joined up with Open Source Development Labs to create an open source software repository. "This initiative is a great example of the USPTO wasting time and not addressing its real problems with prior art," he said.
